Jonas Brothers & Meaghan Martin: Camp Rock 2 in ONE DAY!

The whole cast of Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam sit down with Radio Disney host Ernie D for an extra special take over straight from the set of the film in Toronto.

Ernie D got the lowdown from stars the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Meaghan Martin, Alyson Stoner, Matthew “Mdot” Finley, Chloe Bridges, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Roshon Fegan, and Jordan Francis dished about rituals, the funniest scenes and who really tells the best jokes on set.

Demi dished, “Most of the time, Nick is making the jokes and Joe is repeating them and then everyone laughs.”

Nick added on, “I write the jokes, I say them under my breath, Joe listens to them and then says them out loud.”

Demi Lovato Pays Tribute To Frankie Jonas’ ‘Swag’: The MTV News Quote Of The Day

“He’s the biggest rock star of all of them. He’s got swag like Justin Bieber and he rocks out like Mick Jagger, so he’s kind of a combination of the two. He’s kind of like the ultimate rock star. Watch out, Justin Timberlake!”

-Singer, actress and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” star Demi Lovato, discussing co-star Frankie Jonas, the youngest of the four Jonas Brothers and the one often referred to as “Bonus Jonas.” Lovato compared Frankie to both Bieber and Timberlake on the red carpet of the “Camp Rock 2″ premiere in New York, and she had plenty of praise for the youngest Jonas sibling.

The nine-year-old Frankie may be young, and “Camp Rock 2″ represents his first major live action film (he provided voice work in “Ponyo” a few years back), but his goals are clear. “I would like to pursue my acting career and do a little music in the middle,” he told MTV News. “It’s my first live action [film] and to have my brothers with me is way more exciting because they make you feel more comfortable.”

And he’s even a little wise beyond his years. When asked about what advice his already-veteran older brothers gave him, he could recite the best bit he was given. “They’ve given me a great one that my dad gave to them and they passed on to me during the filming of ‘Camp Rock.’ It says, ‘Live like you’re at the bottom, even if you’re at the top,’ ” he explained. “Remember where you came from.”

For Demi Lovato, every day of the past two years has been like living a “Cinderella story.”
It wasn’t so long ago that the singer and actress from Dallas dreamed of getting that elusive big break.
Then came Camp Rock, the Disney Channel musical that was cable TV’s top-rated original movie of 2008.
It was life-changing for Lovato. It introduced her in a big, big way to a “tween” audience that adores her and supports every career move.
“It’s crazy, and I’m so thankful for it,” says Lovato, who turned 18 last month. “It surpassed and exceeded my expectations. I had no idea it would be so popular.”
Now she’s back at the summer music camp that made it all happen. Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, in which she plays wannabe music star Mitchie Torres, premieres at 7 p.m. Friday on the Disney Channel.
Fellow North Texas teen idols Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas also have returned, meaning Lovato has no reason to be surprised this time. Camp Rock 2 has ratings-hit inevitability written all over it.
For Lovato, Camp Rock was a launch pad to a hit TV series, Disney Channel’s Sonny With a Chance, and a couple of chart-topping albums. But it’s inaccurate to think of her as an overnight success.
She has been a show-business professional for more than a decade, dating back to her days as one of the Barney & Friends kids alongside longtime friend and fellow Disney Channel star Selena Gomez.
What Camp Rock did was give Lovato the forum to showcase talent that had long been present.
There’s a lot of Demi in Mitchie and a lot of Mitchie in Demi, Lovato says, so the role was the ideal vehicle for her to prove herself.
“I was an aspiring singer and actress when I got cast as Mitchie,” she said in an e-mail interview with the Star-Telegram. “She and I were in the same place.”
The parallel between actress and character was most evident when Lovato sang the prophetic lyrics “Now I’ve found who I am/There’s no way to hold it in/No more hiding who I wanna be” in the song This Is Me.
“I felt like I was coming into myself, just like my character was,” Lovato recalls.
It’s also inaccurate to characterize her fan base as being exclusively teens and preteens. She says that she is often surprised to encounter older fans who don’t fit the profile. “It makes me feel good to know my music is reaching out to different ages and audiences,” she says.
The new movie creates a rival and a new challenge for Mitchie and her Camp Rock friends.
Across the lake is another summer music camp, Camp Star, which is run by a scheming record executive who holds a grudge against guitar legend and Camp Rock founder Brown Cesario. Camp Star’s boss wants to drive Camp Rock out of business.
The competition escalates to the point that the two camps perform head-to-head on national TV, with the future of Camp Rock hanging in the balance.
Camp Star embodies an approach, Lovato says, that many people see as a problem in the music business: too much emphasis on sizzle, not enough on substance. “But real music lasts forever,” she says.
As for her own musical tastes, they’re quite eclectic. If one were to go through Lovato’s CD collection or hit shuffle on her iPod, there’s no telling what musical artists might turn up.
“The ones that represent my music best are Kelly Clarkson and John Mayer,” she says. “But you might be surprised by (rapper) Biggie and (metal band) Job for a Cowboy. What I’m listening to at the moment is Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts.”
The career that she has today, Lovato says, is everything that she dreamed it would be and more. “Sometimes I forget that it’s work,” she says.
Alas, it will never be entirely perfect. “I always miss Texas,” says Lovato, who lives in Los Angeles. “I miss things like going to Cowboys games and eating at Texas Roadhouse.”

The Jonas Brothers! And Demi Lovato! (Shhh … if you’re quiet, you can hear the wild screams of tween fans around the world.)

‘Camp Rock’ was such a sensational hit for the Disney Channel, they smartly decided to get the gang back together for ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’ (premieres Fri., Sept. 3, 8PM ET). But something’s standing in the way of Mitchie and the boys having a rockin’ summer: rival Camp Star across the lake. The whole thing ends in a musical battle to end all battles, deciding which is the better camp.

I caught up with Nick, Joe, Kevin and Demi to hear all about the sequel, some new characters and some that’ve grown up since the first film and if there are more ‘Camp Rock’ movies in their future.

Lovato, Jonas Brothers bring it all back to Camp Rock

It’s been two years since Camp Rock was unveiled to the world, creating a star out of cheerful teen singer Demi Lovato and making even bigger stars out of the Jonas Brothers. Camp Rock delivered some of the Disney Channel’s best ratings, spawning a bestselling sound-track -and now, it’s rare to go more than a day without reading a news story about the film’s young stars.

So it came as no surprise that Disney was eager to make a sequel, and, on Sept. 3, Lovato and the Jonas Brothers return for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. As is the case with most sequels, the musical numbers are bigger and the stakes are higher.

“We have a much bigger budget now,” Joe Jonas says. “We haven’t stayed on the same set for more than three days at a time, and that’s really exciting … and the inside sets are absolutely massive.”

Adds Lovato: “We definitely have more dancing in Camp Rock 2. We made the routines even bigger and more fun.”

But although there are still plenty of upbeat song-and-dance numbers, Camp Rock is in trouble, threatened by the glitz and glam of the new Camp Star across the lake. A musical showdown is imminent, but the situation is made more complicated when Nick’s character, Nate, develops a star-crossed romance with a Camp Star camper.

Nick admits he was a little bit intimidated by his bigger role in The Final Jam, but found his work on the family’s Disney Channel sitcom JONAS helped prepare him for the challenge.

“We learned a lot on the set of the show,” Nick says, “and we feel really comfortable in front of the camera now.”

Meanwhile, Joe and Demi’s characters, Shane and Mitchie, struggle to develop their burgeoning relationship while still keeping Camp Rock afloat.

“Shane has gotten a lot nicer,” Joe says. “He’s a lot more confident and finds happiness in wanting to know happiness and getting to know Mitchie.”

But the real question is: Will Shane and Mitchie finally kiss in The Final Jam?

“You’ll have to wait and see,” Lovato says.

Lest any Kevin Jonas fans worry he’s getting left out, Kevin says his character “becomes a counsellor for the junior rock band, to father them through the ups and downs.”

Just as their characters have matured since Camp Rock, Lovato and the Jonas Brothers have grown up themselves. Lovato has become a pop princess in her own right, Nick formed his own band, Nick Jonas and the Administration, Joe is developing his acting career and Kevin is a married man.

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam airs Friday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. on Family Channel.

Demi Lovato’s Gift to Family: a New House

They say it’s better to give than receive – and Demi Lovato was living that maxim this year. The teen star gave her family a gift on her 18th birthday.

“I just bought a house,” Lovato tells PEOPLE of a Mediterranean style home she purchased outside of L.A. “For me to give [that] to my family on my birthday, that was the best present.”

Lovato also plans to live on the property, in a house in the backyard. “It’s got pretty much everything you could possibly imagine in it,” she says. “It’s the most beautiful, homey-feeling house. I love it.”

And, as a bonus, “the pool has a water slide, which is really cool,” she says.

Celebrating her birthday with younger sister Madison de la Garza (of Desperate Housewives) and her Camp Rock 2 costars Joe and Nick Jonas, who were in town to promote the Disney Channel movie which premieres Sept. 3, Lovato and her pals dined at New York’s Buddakan – and finished off the evening with a cake.

The movie was enough of a treat, but the lucky Jonas Brothers fans who attended the Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam premiere in New York Wednesday got a whole lot more than that.

Following the screening at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato emerged for a surprise performance of the romantic duet “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” from the movie’s soundtrack, with Joe’s brothers Kevin and Nick playing backup.

The impromptu concert was a hit, judging by the number of girls in the audience shrieking at the top of their lungs.

Earlier in the event, on the red carpet, Lovato talked about how it’s been working with Joe Jonas since their breakup in May. “We’ve obviously had our ups and downs, but no matter what, we’ll be best friends for a long time,” she told PEOPLE.

Lovato, who turns 18 on Friday, also expressed her gratitude to Joe, 21, for recently threatening legal action against a blogger who posted a story with alleged falsehoods about their relationship.

“All three of them will defend me, because they’re my brothers, they have my back,” Lovato said. “And I’ll defend them any day, too.”

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam will premiere on the Disney Chanel on Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. ET and air the following three nights at the same time.

The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato packed their trunks, drumsticks, guitars, and singing voices for a summer of music and romance in “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.” The tween sensations marched down the red carpet in New York on Wednesday alongside Mickey and Minnie Mouse for a magical Disney premiere.

Joe Jonas credited his “supportive family” for the trio’s success. “We all have individual dreams, but I think that we have each other to lean back on, come together, play music together, and have a good time.”

Demi appraised the sequel as “bigger and better. It’s crazy. There’s going to be so much more drama, romance, music. It’s more of a musical this time around.”

“Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” brings the battle of the bands to the Disney Channel on September 3.

[The next time] I met her for the first time after the auditions was at dinner one night for a cast party, I didn’t even recognize her because she grew up and got really, really gorgeous and she’s so nice – she’s awesome.”

Demi Lovato gets all smiley after blowing out a candle on an early piece of birthday cake as she visits FOX & Friends in NYC on Wednesday morning (August 18).

The 17-year-old singer, wearing LOFT’s gold chain and gem bracelet, recently caught up with MTV about her tour style inspirations. She shared, “I feel like it’s more Rihanna than Lady Gaga. I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather.”

Demi continued, “I have this crazy jewelry [Nicolina Royale]. Actually this one [ring] is pretty crazy [with all its spikes], and the bracelets have twice as many spikes. Overall, I guess you can say there’s a ton of spikes in my wardrobe.”
